Off-Grid Solar Systems Powering Starlink for Digicel
Off-Grid Solar Systems Powering Starlink for Digicel Project in Vanuabalavu, Lau
Solar Fiji designed and installed dedicated off-grid solar power systems to operate Starlink satellite internet connections for the Digicel project in Vanuabalavu, Lau. This project was delivered in partnership with Rogo Networks, who handled the Starlink installation and network setup. A total of 9 complete systems were successfully installed across selected sites on the island.
Each system was engineered specifically to power the Starlink kit, ensuring stable and continuous internet service in remote locations with no access to the main power grid. With these installations, communities in Vanuabalavu now benefit from reliable connectivity for education, communication, and digital services-fully supported by clean and renewable solar energy.
This project demonstrates how solar power and satellite technology can work together to bridge the digital divide in Fiji’s outer islands.
